He is just a few days short of completing 28 years, yet he dreams of playing Test cricket for Australia. When Shaun Marsh had joined Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural IPL in 2008, his claim to fame was being the son of former Aussie Test opener Geoff Marsh. As a talented 25-year-old then, nobody outside Australia had heard of him. While playing for Western Australia in domestic cricket, he was spotted by the-then KXIP coach Tom Moody.
He saw potential in the lad, a swashbuckling left-handed batsman who could come good in T20. And Marsh did not disappoint Moody as, once he got a chance in the XI after sitting out for the first few games, he never looked back. He not only ended up winning the Orange Cap for being the highest scorer in that edition, but soon earned an Australian ODI cap.
