Provision of free education in Philippine and East Asia 

Free education relates to education funded by the government through taxes paid by individuals of society. Gaining knowledge is the right of every individual, despite of his or her color, caste, creed or financial status. Knowledge is power; power of decent life that provides means to earn decent income and is a source of respect and dignity. When knowledge bestows such powers why should it only be confined to the well-to-do? Education needs to be free for every one deserving it, and the criteria to judge what a person deserves should be through his or her capabilities and potentials not wealth. Provision of free education only benefits the society and has no ill effects.
